Quit paying so much attention to what Dr. Anthony Fauci says about the coronavirus. Get your information from clever commentator Jesse Watters of fair and balanced Fox News. He on air asks Fauci, could you have done anything differently than a full-scale national shutdown, like letting those forty-five and under work and have everyone wear masks?
Since the coronavirus transmissibility is efficient enough, we could not take the chance of letting people get infected without serious consequences, says Fauci. The young would have spread the disease to those most vulnerable, the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.
Could you have concentrated on the hotspots and spared the whole country of an economic shutdown?
The only way to cut off the virus was and is with physical separation, says Fauci.
I have a very high regard for you, Dr. Fauci, Jesse Watters says, sharpening his sword, but some people are very angry with you… Your advice to the president to shut everything down has cost a lot of people their jobs and businesses. What would you say to those people?
That’s very unfortunate, Fauci says, and a consequence when you have to balance when trying to save as many lives as possible. That’s why we’re looking for ways to safely reopen the country. We felt and still feel that our approach was right. Maybe there could’ve been other approaches but that was the choice we made based on the information we had. One can always second guess. Right now, even though many people are still dying, our data indicate we will soon see a radical drop in the numbers of deaths because fewer people are getting infected.
Thank you, Dr. Fauci, says Jesse Watters.
